If you know me, you know that the holidays are not particularly my favorite time of year, but these ornaments actually make me really excited. So excited, I may even consider decorating my own home for the holidays- for the first time ever! Jillian Simmang of Simmang Design is a wonderfully talented jewlery designer that ventured into the world of holiday decor, because of her love of collecting ornaments with her husband!
“For half my life I have been accumulating whimsical and unique ornaments for my Christmas tree. After I got married, my husband and I decided that wherever we traveled our souvenier would be a Christmas ornament. Continuing in that tradition, two years ago my Mom came home with these amazing 1950’s costume jewelry encrusted ornaments from an estate sale. I am a huge vintage fanatic (as apparent in my jewelry) and wanted to make ornaments, because I LOVE CHRISTMAS! I have been digging through my treasure of brooches and clip on earrings that I have collected along the way to create these beautiful, one of a kind ornaments. Each one is designed around the focal brooch or earring down to the paint color. Much like my jewelry, these are intended to become heirlooms that get passed down for years to come.
