1. Inspirational Phrases. I am going to say they should have never been on trend. Let’s leave the “Live. Laugh. Learn.” jazz in the elementary school classrooms!
2. Chevron. It honestly could have been given a longer run, if it wasn’t so overused! I’ve seen can openers with the chevron pattern…enough, is enough!
3. Tumbled Travertine Backsplashes. There was a time and a place, and boy was this look was hot! Anybody who was somebody had a tumbled travertine backsplash. It is time to move on and update those outdated backsplashes that were in for so long.
4. Bold Accent Walls. As a designer, I have to admit, I love accent walls- but I have definitely been steering clear of the bolder colors/high contrast colors. A little bit goes a long way… let’s stop with the bright red against beige walls!
5. Midcentury Everything. The ideas and designs of that time will never fade. Great design is great design! However, the trend of creating a perfectly midcentury period room is out.
