As lovers of vintage, the owners of this North Austin home wanted a simple canvas that would complement their ever-growing collection of artifacts. The married couple had one child with a second on the way, so they needed a functional, spacious home for their growing family. Urbane Design renovated the entire home to bring their personalities to life and create a space that was comfortable and inspiring.

Creating a space that allowed the client to express themselves for years to come was a priority for this home. The client wanted a clean slate that allowed their collection of vintage finds to shine. We kept the main living areas light and airy, with a mix of light gray paint and white brick walls, and pops of color coming through in furniture, rugs, art and light fixtures. The style of the home can best be described as modern meets vintage with a minimal approach to decoration—just enough, and not too cluttered.

The guest bathroom features handmade clay tiles paired with an intricate wallpaper and a streamlined, modern vanity. The mix of materials in this room perfectly encapsulate the client's design personality—polished, yet not without texture, history, and a human touch.

The master bedroom required careful space planning to make dreams of a larger bathroom a reality. The overall space of the bedroom was reduced and the bathroom was expanded to include a walk-in closet, double vanity and drop-in tub and walk-in shower with beautiful marble subway tile. The master bedroom is still large enough to include a king sized bed and a seating area—leaving enough room for the couple to escape, relax and unwind.

The facade of this home mirrored the overall design style, with new white brick laid to create a seamless experience from the exterior to the interior. Three small space windows were removed and replaced with one large, picturesque window, which brought natural light into the living area. The exterior was finished off with a new garage door, a fresh coat of blue paint on the front door and minimal black light fixtures.

The Flagstaff home is a beautiful representation of the client's laid back personality and ability to blend the old with the new.
